Panel Discussion at the Corcoran: “A Community of Vision: Hollin Hills, Modern Then and Now.”
In connection with the Hollin Hills 2012 House & Garden Tour, the Department of Interior Design, Corcoran College of Art + Design, Washington, DC will host a program entitled “A Community of Vision: Hollin Hills, Modern Then and Now.” The Corcoran is Washington's only four-year college of art and design and one of the only museum schools in the country. This program will take place at 6:00 pm, at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, 500 17th Street, NW, Washington, DC, on April 27th, 2012.
Architect Michael Sorkin, landscape architect Dennis Carmichael, FASLA, and Heidi Nasstrom Evans, Ph.D, will discuss the history, and influence of Hollin Hills, a Modernist suburban development in Northern Virginia built in the middle of the last century. The program will be moderated by Lisa Lipinski, Ph.D., Interim Chair of Arts and Humanities, Corcoran College of Art + Design.
