Whether you are visiting our site as a current homeowner or you are considering living in here, whether your interest lies in the modern architecture of the homes or the wonderful community, we have plenty to offer. Welcome to Hollin Hills. This historic, modern community established in 1949 by developer, Robert Davenport and architect, Charles Goodman, has stood the test of time and remains as unique in the metropolitan Washington DC area today as it did 60 plus years ago. It is hard to drive through the community – especially at night with the lights glowing through the windows – and not feel like you have been transported to Malibu, or the Hollywood Hills with the openness of the walls of windows and the way the houses cling to the hillsides. There is a sense of openness and an invitation to slow down and enjoy the view. Unlike Malibu or Hollywood Hills there is still plenty of privacy, despite having no high walls or gates, because of the care taken to position the homes on the land deliberately to give each resident their own space while sharing the vistas of the others. The living community of Hollin Hills is as unique as its architecture. Many of our residence are original homeowners, but Hollin Hills continues to draw young families from the surrounding area looking for a friendlier environment to raise their children. We are also blessed to have a large group of artists – covering almost every medium – along with professionals and politicos from all walks. This interesting mix of backgrounds and views ensures Hollin Hills remains a vibrant and active community with something for everyone. Please take time on our web site - enjoy the photo gallery and read about our history, but most certainly take time to visit Hollin Hills in person. I am sure you will grow to love it just as I have. |
